BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan (June18, 2008) — Coalition forces will destroy a helicopter that was damaged Tuesday in a hard landing in eastern Nuristan province close to the border of Konar province. The remote terrain and location have prevented recovery of the aircraft. Coalition forces will conduct a controlled detonation of the damaged aircraft. No service members were seriously injured in the landing. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation. |
