LT Fareed, the ANA Platoon Commander, impressed our sniper team by engaging and hitting a target 950 meters from his position. Chainsaw Snipers found out that he was formally trained by the Romanians, which tremendously assisted in the training.
At Forward Operating Base Wilderness in the Paktika Province, the 203rd Corps, Afghan National Army is receiving sniper training from Paratroopers of the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division.

Today’s ANA/CF Sniper training consisted of familiarization and fundamentals of Marksmanship and proper maintenance on the Dragunov Sniper Rifle.

Fundamentals of spotting were also taught to the ANA Sniper team to achieve accurate and deadly fires.

Emphasizing proper rifle position, breathing, sighting, and trigger squeeze, Team Chainsaw Snipers assisted the ANA on zeroing their weapons out to 300 meters.

ANA displayed their knowledge and expertise on the Dragunov by teaching our sniper team what they were taught.
